Patient Education Resource Center
The Patient Education Resource Center provides patient health education and facility information. It is located at the Central Clinic, Suite 185, Room 1105. It is part of the medical library and offers books, tapes, brochures and printouts. It also contains anatomical models and charts for hands on learning. Many pamphlets that cover a variety of health topics are also available.
The PERC has two computers. One for computer-based learning and the other computer with a dedicated line to the My Health e Vet website.
Patients can walk-in without an appointment or may be referred by any staff member. One may also be referred for specific classes, to see specific videos for selected clinics or for general health information.
The Patient Education Resource Center is located at the Central Clinic (Delta Point) on the 1st floor in Suite 185, room 1105. The hours of operation for PERC and the Library are Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 3:30PM
My HealtheVet
The My HealtheVet site provides veterans and their families excellent, reliable patient education information as well as the latest VA News. Information about veterans benefits and services is also available.
Upon registering with My HealtheVet, you will be able to —
- refill prescriptions online
- keep personal food and activity journals
- monitor your personal health data, such as blood pressure and pain levels
- maintain your own self-entered personal health record
Outpatient Classes
Clinical staff provide ongoing health education during regularly scheduled outpatient clinic visits. Courses focus on —
- health promotion
- upcoming tests and procedures
- medications
- diagnoses
- treatments
